Trauma Therapy in NevadaThe event ended.
Your body didn’t get the message.
Somatic, trauma-informed therapy for Nevada residents — by telehealth.
You can be years past it and still feel it in the room with you — the bracing, the flinch, the going‑somewhere‑else when things get close. You understand what happened. Understanding hasn’t been enough to let your body stand down.
This is the work for what insight alone hasn’t reached.
A note before we go further: if reading about this stirs something up, that’s your system doing its job. Move at your own pace. If you’re in crisis right now, you don’t have to wait for a consultation — call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any hour.
What trauma actually is
Why does trauma stay in the body?
In the somatic frame I work from, trauma isn’t the event. It’s what stayed in the nervous system after the event ended — a survival response that never got the signal it was over. The body keeps running the old program: bracing, scanning, going numb. Trauma therapy works with the nervous system, not only the story.
Your nervous system isn’t overreacting. It’s remembering something it was never given the chance to finish. In the moment it mattered, your body did exactly what kept you safe — it froze, it fought, it left. The problem isn’t that it failed. The problem is that it’s still on, long after the danger passed.
Hypervigilance, numbness, the flinch you can’t think your way out of — these are not defects. They are an intelligent system that learned its lesson too well and never got the all‑clear. We don’t override that system. We help it finish what it started, so it can finally rest.
How I work with trauma
We go slow, and we go beneath the story.
A lot of trauma work stays at the level of the story — what happened, what it meant, how to think about it differently. That layer matters, and we stay there as long as the story needs to be heard. But most of what keeps trauma alive doesn’t live in the story. It lives below it.
I work three ways, woven together in response to what you bring — never a fixed protocol:
- Somatic & nervous-system work
- We track sensation alongside story — breath, posture, the place the body braces — until your system learns, at the level it actually listens, that it’s safe to soften.
- Parts & Memory work
- The part of you that stays on guard isn’t the enemy. It took the job young and never got relieved of it. We meet it with care instead of force, so it can trust there’s finally someone else holding the watch.
- Clinical hypnotherapy
- A quiet, guided way to reach the layer beneath ordinary awareness — where the nervous system first learned its patterns — to move material that conversation alone has circled for years. Nothing about it takes you anywhere you haven’t agreed to go; you stay aware and in choice the whole time.
We go slow here. Not because the work is fragile, but because you are not a problem to solve quickly. Regulation first. The deeper work after — in the order your system allows.
Who this is for
You might recognize some of this.
Maybe you look functional on the outside while inside you feel overwhelmed, frozen, numb, or disconnected from yourSelf. Maybe the thing happened decades ago and your body still acts like it’s now. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and it reached the story but never the part of you still bracing for impact.
This work tends to meet people who are:
- Living with single-incident or complex trauma — the kind that built up slowly, over years
- Carrying something old: grief, loss, what happened in childhood, what happened in a body that wasn’t believed
- Functional on paper and frozen underneath
- Past the point where understanding it helps, and ready for the body to be part of the work
- Wanting a therapist who won’t ask them to leave their spirituality, their identity, or any part of who they are at the door
All of you is welcome here — body-positive, kink-aware, LGBTQIA+ affirming, multicultural, sex-worker allied. Affirming and licensed, not one or the other.
The body remembers.
We help it finish.
What a session is like
What happens in trauma therapy with you?
We meet by secure video, anywhere in Nevada. Early sessions are mostly listening — what brought you here, what you’ve tried, what hasn’t reached. We move slowly. Nothing gets forced open. You set the pace, and we work with the body and the story together, only as fast as your system can stay present for.
There’s no reliving the worst thing to prove it happened. Trauma work done well is the opposite of overwhelm — it’s building enough safety in your body that the hard material can be approached without flooding you. Some sessions we stay with the story. Some we track breath and sensation. Some we sit with a part of you that’s carried too much for too long. You can pause anytime. You can stop anytime.

Questions about trauma therapy
A few questions, answered.
- Trauma-informed therapy treats your symptoms as adaptations, not defects, and makes safety the first priority instead of an afterthought. It works at the pace your nervous system can tolerate, never forcing you to relive the worst of it, so the body can settle rather than be pushed back into overwhelm.
- Somatic trauma therapy works with the body's survival responses directly — the bracing, numbness, and hypervigilance that talking alone rarely reaches. By tracking sensation alongside the story and using breath, grounding, and gentle movement, it helps the nervous system complete what it couldn't at the time, so it can finally come out of survival mode.
- Yes. I'm licensed in Nevada (LCPC #CP5910) and work entirely by telehealth, so I can see any adult physically located in Nevada — Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and statewide. Sessions are self-pay by secure video. Many people find the safety of their own space makes deeper work more accessible.

If something here met you
That you’re still reading
is its own kind of answer.
You don’t have to arrive knowing what to call it. You don’t have to bring an answer. A free consultation is a conversation about whether this is the right room for you — not a commitment to therapy, and no pressure either way. If it’s not the right fit, I’ll help you find where to look next.
Come home to yourSelf.
A free 15-minute fit conversation, by video. It’s not a therapy session and not clinical advice. No diagnosis needed. Nevada residents; self-pay.
